Hiraeth starts at Zaventem airport, where joy turns into fear and uncertainty when DEBBIE (23), after months in Nepal, does not arrive. The film takes the viewer on Debbie’s final trek through the beautiful landscapes of Nepal. Gradually, a web of mystery, ritual murders and cover-ups unfolds that serves to protect the carefully crafted tourist image and hide the truth of missing and murdered tourists in the region.
